I am Sai, the voice behind Unheard of Headphone Lab. My adventure in the audio was sparked by the eclectic sounds from my parents’ record collection. This fascination grew with my first hifi headphone, the Sennheiser HD518, which I bought upon their release as a gift to myself. They might not have been the epitome of neutrality, but they surely taught me the beauty of bass and the fluidity of mids.
My approach aims to combine objective measurements and subjective listening to deliver precise, no-nonsense reviews. Measurements are valuable as reference points; but one also needs to be mindful of their limitation as representations of actual sound. In the world of sounds, nothing is simply black or white; it’s the spectrum of grey that reveal the true character of a device.
This site began as a personal project, a place to organise my thoughts and discoveries. It’s not about profit – there are no affiliate links or sponsored content here.
